FARM/MILKING COWS

Did you ever milk a cow or spend time on a farm or in the country? Tell me about it.

Yes, I've milked a cow or you would say I stripped the cow if you were a farmer. I got the best part of the milk after the milker.

I was not a farmer by birth, but married one and we had a farm. I helped out some.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES

What summer games and activities did your family enjoy?

Us kids played Hide N Seek, run sheep run, jump rope, hop scotch, follow mother to market.

Our family (mom & dad) didn't play games. Our children did.

RIDING BIKE/SNOW SKI/WATER SKI/ROLLER SKATE/ SAIL

When did you learn how to ride a bike, or to water ski, snow ski, roller skate, or sail? Share your memories of the experience.

I rode a bike at an early age and rode all over Concord, NH except on the main streets. No skiing or sailing.

OUTDOOR WORK

What kind of outdoor work do you like? Hate? Why?

I enjoy the flowers, but can't seem to keep up with them. I go out about every day to see how much the vegetable garden has grown since yesterday and harvest it. Gramps does most of the upkeep. I help plant and harvest.

PERFECT SUMMER DAY

Describe a perfect summer day.

Gramps and I sitting on the back swing, sun going down, warm, birds flying around. We even got to recognize some of them and their habits as they came close. All was peaceful.

COLLECTIONS

Did you have a collection when you were growing up? What initially sparked your interest in it?

I had a small napkin collection. I had a pretty good size match cover collection. I had a good penny collection until I took it to school to show our hobby collection and someone stole several.
